The
International Association for Comparative Study of China and the West brings together scholars, teachers and independent researchers from anywhere in the world who are interested in comparative studies of China and the West involving any and all disciplines. Its primary purpose is to organize conferences and promote publications involving its members. It aims through its website to keep members informed about each other’s work and new developments within the broad range of relevant comparative studies.
Since many practitioners of comparative studies work largely in isolation, the Association seeks to promote synergistic interactions among them. The multinational character of the membership is an indispensable part of realizing this goal.
The next conference is planned for early July 2013 at Peking University.
Within this Association a group of members concerned primarily with Translation Studies will have its own category within the discussion Forum. Other Forums may be added in response to member requests.
To view Forum postings requires only registration on the membership form posted on this site. Acceptance by the Association will lead to creating a profile and password for this purpose. To post materials or announcements and add to Forum discussions or Blogs requires full membership, which follows from paying a modest annual fee. Approved members may then participate fully in Association business, including elections.
